Mythical ship from the popular album "Red Rackham's treasure".
Beautiful and very intricate model of the ship the Sirius from the Tintin stories. The ship is extremely detailed. A good size: 60 cm long, 31 cm high and 13 cm wide. This version has a body in shiny deep bordeaux red.
The Sirius 's first appearance was in the attached book by Georges Price from 1896 called "Les Trois Disparus du Sirius", the book that inspired Hergรฉ to give the Sirius a role in his own exciting story.
The model was built by hand by a model maker which is why there are not many copies. Different kinds of wood were used to make the hull and the masts as real as possible, with smaller details in metal and plastic.
The Pixi figurines are only to show the scale and are not for sale. The shark submarine however belongs with the ship and is part of the sale.
Not only is this model a valuable miniature from Hergรฉ's stories, it is also a very decorative model ship in its own right. Would look very pretty in a glass cabinet.
Will be securely shipped in a special wooden box for boats.
The historical novel "Les Trois Disparus du Sirius" is for reference purposes only and is not part of the lot. The buyer will however receive a decorative glossy print showing the front cover of the book.
